By looking at earlier threads it is obvious that almost all dytopian situations root from human weaknesses and traits. I feel that a perfect novel to illustrate this is the Lord of the Flies by William Golding. The book shows a society which seeks utopia but reaches dystopia through misery through things such as bullying through the gain for power.
The plot involves a group of stranded boys who find a temporary way of upholding equality but when that falls through it shows the massive flaws of anarchy and authority and how easy violence can occur.
